LPA Recording Secretary Still Needed for 2008-2009!

We are looking for a volunteer to record the minutes of the LPA meetings for the 2008-2009 school year.  If you are planning on coming to the meetings and can help with this while you are there, please contact Conni Weaver @ 923-1334, Kathy Kaufman @ 662-9719, or Paula Matthews @ 598-9550.  Thanks!

LPA Event Chairs wanted!

This year we are trying to recruit our chairpersons for next year’s events ahead of time.  In each case, we will provide you will all the information and volunteers you need to successfully chair the event.    Please consider signing up to chair one of these areas.  And don’t forget…you can always co-chair the event with a friend!

Survey Chair – We conduct 2 surveys in a school year (October and April).  They’re our 2nd biggest fundraiser!  You will be the key contact for the survey company.  You will be provided with a list of parents who volunteered to participate in the survey.  You and your helpers will call the volunteers to schedule their times to participate in the survey.  Then the day of the survey, you and your helpers will meet the survey company to help setup.  You’ll greet the parents and check them in for their participation in the survey.

Dance Chaperone Chair – We provide chaperones for all 4 of LaSalle’s dances.  You will be provided with a list of parents who volunteered to chaperone the various dances.  Your job is to contact them via email or phone so that you have ~10 parents recruited for each dance.  You do not have to attend the dances yourself.  You will be provided a teacher contact to meet the parents the evening of the dance.

Academic Award Events – We host 2 academic award events at LaSalle a year: the National Honor Society reception (November) and the Academic Awards reception (May).  You will be provided a list of volunteers who will either send in cookies/drinks or will serve the cookies/drinks at the reception.  You need to contact them via email or phone prior to the events to arrange for them to send in food/drinks or to serve.  You will organize the volunteer workers the night of the receptions and help serve the drinks/food.

Ham Sale – We currently host 1 ham sale at Easter but we’re considering adding another sale at Christmas if we can find someone to chair this fundraiser.  This is our 3rd largest fundraiser.  You will be the key contact for the ham companies.  You will be provided a list of parents who are interested in purchasing hams.  Your job is to contact them via email to remind them of the sale.  You will collect the ham orders, place the order, receive the order (they’re delivered to LaSalle) and pass the orders to the parents at LaSalle.

Cookies for Students – We currently host a special event for the students at Christmas time.  You will be provided a list of volunteers who will send in cookies for this event.  You will also be provided a list of volunteers to work with you to organize the cookies on the day of the event.  The cookies are then picked up at lunchtime for each classroom.

Junior Ring Ceremony – We host a short reception after the Junior Ring Ceremony (Dec).  You will be provided a list of volunteers who will send in cookies/drinks/serve the reception.  Your job is to contact them to organize the drinks/cookies and workers.  You will setup at the place of the ceremony (TBD-usually a local parish) and organize the workers during the reception.
