Color Guard
The winter guard finished their season strongly this year with a 5th place finish at Tri-State Circuit Championships.
Congradulations to all participants!
The Color Guard is the auxiliary group of the Marching Band. All Color Guard members are students at either McAuley or Mother of Mercy High Schools. People interested in joining this group do not need any previous experience in music or art. Try-outs for the Color Guard are held in mid-March. Our Color Guard members are very important members of our entire band family. Their excellent work adds tremendously to the visual and general effect of our entire marching show.
Winter Guard is the term which refers to our Color Guard during the winter and spring seasons. All members of the Color Guard are required to do Winter Guard. The Winter Guard creates a Color Guard show indoors for the purpose of performance and competition. These students perform spectacular shows with precision and pageantry.
Junior Guard
The Jr. Guard finished their season with a tie for 2nd place at Tri-State Circuit Championships. Congradulations to all participants!
The Junior Guard is a new grade school auxiliary group that was started in 2002 by Assistant Color Guard Instructor, Patsy Simmons. The Junior Guard gives grade school students, ranging from 5th graders to 8th graders, the opportunity to be in the Junior divison of the Color Guard. The Junior Guard practice their show during Marching Band season and perform it the same time that Winter Guard performs.
